Minor Surgery

Minor SurgeryThe word surgery is a term used in reference to treatments of the body that involve a medical professional cutting or stitching tissue. Minor surgery does not include or involve the use of anaesthesia or respiratory assistance during the surgical procedure. Surgery is a broad term in the area of care and can involve many different techniques. Minor operative procedures are performed in our dedicated treatment room, using the most up to date techniques.

In most cases the treatment is needed to repair or arrest disease of the body. Many common conditions can be treated very quickly with the use of minor surgery and may only require the use of a local anaesthetic.

In order to assess the type of surgery that you need, you will be required to call in to your local practice and have an assessment of the problem area. We will then be able to arrange an appointment that wills suit you. Most surgery is carried out on a daily basis or as an out-patient procedure.

Surgery after care is very important, your body must heal in a timely manner and be free from infection that may occur after the surgery. The doctors and nurses at the clinic will provide you with full after care instructions on the best way to look after any wounds that may be a result of any minor surgery.

At The Keogh Practice we also provide all patients that have had minor surgery with a follow up appointment so that one of the medical team can check in on the progress of any healing.
